Abstract:		 In 2007, CFA Archaeology Ltd. excavated a Roman-period ditched enclosure and probable field system. The lack of any internal features surviving within the enclosure means that it is unclear whether this was a native Romano-British farmstead or a Roman military installation. This paper looks at the relationship between the enclosure and the field system and considers the evidence for both interpretations.
