NX 9414 etc. Fieldwalking has produced evidence of extensive habitation sites at St Bees and at Tarnflat. Dependence on beach pebble flint had been lessened by exploitation of volcanic tuff, even for microliths. St Bees had a higher proportion of geometrical shapes than, say, Eskmeals; but notched blades and microburins were absent. A few possible Neo-EBA artefacts were found. | ||||
