Abstract:		 Report on the results of a survey in 1987 of earthworks indicating a former settlement at Little Linton, Cambridgeshire. The authors consider the reasons why Little Linton became a deserted settlement, including an examination of the history of the landscape of Linton parish. They suggest that Little Linton was abandoned as a consequence of its inhabitants moving, or being moved, to a new settlement laid out as part of a thirteenth-century commercial development.
