Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
Describes in detail an oak coffin containing a skeleton, found during the cutting of a trench for water mains in Churchyard Side, Nantwich, in 1925. Six skulls and portions of another coffin were also found, as well as wooden water mains and clay pipes. The coffins are considered likely to date to the 13th century, whilst the wooden pipes have been ascribed to the year 1584. LD | |||||
