Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
Excavation along a length of pipeline revealed evidence both of early medieval activity and of the period when the Wymondham Benedictine abbey flourished. This included a wall, a possible robber trench, internal and external floor surfaces and debris apparently related to the preparation of food, as well as drainage features. An area dedicated to burials was recorded to the south-west of the present churchyard, as well as a possible trackway. A square flint structure of unknown function was also recorded.
