Abstract: |
The territory of the Regni, centred on its tribal capital of Noviomagus (Chichester), has produced impressive monuments like the Fishbourne palace, the villa at Bignor, and the Saxon Shore forts of Portchester and Pevensey. The history of the tribe from pre-Roman times to early 5th century AD is covered and there are chapters discussing communications and urban settlement, rural settlement and industry/economy. |
