Abstract: |
The second in the series which records the data from the core research programmes. Included is a paper by Anthony Hamlin (pp 3-45) on 'Technology and archaeology', which traces a stepwise development from man's first interest in ores as a source of pigments through to the 'almost inevitable discovery of metals' under conditions which would allow controlled repetition. Such a rational framework can underpin future experimental archaeological work. The remainder of the Yearbook gives harvest data, underground silo data, and observations on sherd movement and fragmentation in ploughsoil. |
