Abstract: |
Booklet accompanying an exhibition at the Museum of London: the watercolourdrawings of Roman and post-Roman objects from the Bucklersbury excavations of 1872-3 and similar material from the Walbrook and from Southwark are both professionally accurate and graceful. Short sections of the booklet treat the Victorian interest in archaeology and the story of the Armitt Library in Ambleside, which holds Potter's archaeological and natural history drawings. |
