Abstract
An Anglo-Saxon harp and lyre of the 9th century
Graeme Lawson
229 - 244
Contour plot of the cross-shaft at Masham (Yorks N) allows identification of four human figures, two with musical instruments. These are a lyre and a harp, the old and new AS instruments, whose relationships are discussed in a European context. The two other figures appear to be a scribe and a dancer, when read against other David scenes.
