Abstract: |
Seven of the eight trenches excavated during the evaluation showed evidence of landscaping/ground reduction, and extensive truncation of the underlying chalk during the construction of the recently demolished buildings. Undisturbed chalk was encountered in the other trench, but no archaeological features or finds were observed in it. A watching brief during the subsequent groundworks produced no features or finds.[Au] |
