Abstract: |
During the course of the evaluation no archaeological features or deposits were recorded in the southern half of the proposed development area, and a number of 19th to 20th century features were recorded in the northern half. These features included two rubble pathways in the same location as pathways on the first edition OS map, a curvilinear depression interpreted as a garden feature to the south of St Mary's Home and two parallel features and an associated pit to the west of the pathways. The larger linear feature contained pottery of 19th to 20th century date and was interpreted as a possible service trench. [Au(abr)] |
