Abstract: |
The watching brief was undertaken during the construction of flats to the rear of the Bear Yard Inn. The groundworks identified redeposited 18th century quarry debris along with two truncated portions of 19th century wall and an associated cobbled surface and garden soil. These structures were subsequently demolished and the level of the area raised prior to the laying of the concrete slab that formed the surface of the modern car park. [Au(abr)] |
