Abstract: |
The evaluation was carried out in advance of a proposed residential development. The site lay within an area rich in prehistoric archaeological remains with the World Heritage Site of Avebury lying some 5 km to the south the archaeologically rich Marlborough Downs, c.2 km to the east. The demolition rubble remains of an 18th century house were identified in Trench Two. No other archaeological remains were identified. The evaluation concluded the site was of low archaeological potential. [Au(adp)] |
