Abstract: |
The assessment indicated that there was a relatively strong possibility that some archaeological deposits would be removed. Fieldwalking across the site had produced predominantly medieval/post-medieval material. Relatively few worked flints and Roman artefacts were recovered, the latter contrasting with the quantity of finds recovered north of Staunton. There appeared to have been a particular potential for the recovery of prehistoric data from the site. Given the data from areas close to the site, there existed the possibility of Roman deposits being present. SMR entries also suggested the possibility of medieval structures on the periphery of the area. [Au(adp)] |
