Abstract: |
A desk-based assessment identified that the site was occupied by domestic buildings and open plots during the mid 19th century. By the early 20th century infilling of the open plots had taken place. Industrial buildings seemed to occupy the site from the 1960s through to the present. The archaeological evaluation consisted of 4 trial trenches. Features identified were post-medieval and modern cellars associated with recently demolished industrial buildings. Modern pits containing pottery were also identified in Trenches 1 and 2. Trenches 3 and 4 contained no archaeological remains. [Au(adp)] |
