Abstract: |
Trial trenches were excavated on the proposed development site. Six boundary features dating from the 11th to the 18th centuries were identified. A large pit containing fired clay and bricks was identified. The debris represents the remains of structures involved in salt production between the 11th and 13th century. Sloping layers of silt possibly from salt production pr part of a palaeochannel was also identified. [Au(abr)] |
