Abstract: |
Areas of metalled surfacing and an associated revetment wall or wall footing were recorded during the evaluation. These may have represented a track, yard or possibly a small agricultural shelter or store. Artefactual evidence suggested that this dated from the 17th to 18th century but that it had fallen out of use by the mid 19th century. A single sherd of medieval pottery was recovered, however, this did not shed any light on the nature of activity of this date in the area.[Au(abr)] |
