Abstract: |
Of the three buildings which stood in the development area, two were single phase brick built structures dating to the 20th century. The third building, which stood in the centre of the street frontage, was typical of a Bristol building tradition of the mid 19th century. There was no archaeology predating the later medieval period in the area. However, map evidence indicated that the area covered by the site had been developed since the mid 18th century. The lack of modern cellars in one of the buildings allowed for the potential for undefined prehistoric activity and late medieval/post-medieval remains to have existed below. [Au(abr)] |
