Abstract: |
A desk-based study of the route options of the proposed Melbury Abbas Bypass and improvements along the A350 road was undertaken. The A350 options were shown to have potential negative impacts on sites currently regarded as of regional or country significance with only the Revised Village Bypasses likely to adversely affect on Scheduled Ancient Monument at Stourpaine. Three of the options were identified as having a positive impact at Durweston Bridge (a Scheduled Ancient Monument). Along the C13/Melbury Abbas Bypass two Scheduled sites (Pimperne Iron Age enclosure and a prehistoric round barrow on Spread Eagle Hill) would suffer minor negative effects. [AIP] |
