Abstract: |
An evaluation was carried out at the proposed site of a residential development which lay close to the centre of medieval Billericay, c. 1.2km from the assumed centre of Romano-British settlement. A significant number of Roman artefacts had been found in the vicinity of the proposal site, whilst Late Iron Age remains and 1st century AD cremations had also been recorded nearby. During the evaluation, no archaeological features or finds were revealed. [AIP] |
