Abstract: |
As an inital stage in the proposed redevelopment of the site, an environmental survey was commissioned to assess levels of ground contamination. A watching brief was undertaken during this to identify any archaeological remains which lay under a 19th century railway, where, in 1868, an important group of prehistoric material was found. Apart from a large amount of ash and cinders, nothing of archaeological significance was revealed. [AIP] |
