Abstract: |
Fieldwork consisted of the mechanical excavation of 6 trenches, with a combined length of 300 metres, within the area affected by clay extraction. A length of stone-filled ditch was uncovered, as well as an isolated posthole and a shallow pit filled with burnt material, but no artefactual evidence was recovered to enable these features to be dated. Several more modern features including ceramic field drains were also identified. [Au] |
