Abstract: |
Consultation of archaeological, documentary and map-based archives identified no known archaeological features or findspots within the study area or its immediate vicinity. The site lay c.0.4 km east of an undated complex of enclosures and linear ditches recorded from aerial photography, and some 0.4 km west of the known foci of late Saxon and medieval settlement based around the village church, two early mills and a Knights Hospitaller preceptory.
