Abstract: |
The watching brief was undertaken within an area of land, part of which traversed Kent SAM No. 380, an early Anglo-Saxon cemetery. No features of any antiquity were observed north or south of the scheduled area. Within the SAM area, one shallow Anglo-Saxon grave was located and excavated. Two copper alloy objects were retrieved from the features, a button brooch and a pair of tweezers. The finds suggested that the grave dated to the late 5th century. [Au] |
