Abstract: |
Observation was held over the de-silting of the north-west angle of the moat at Mettingham Castle. Nothing of archaeological interest was seen apart from the base of a brick wall exposed upon de-turfing in order to create a machine access ramp. A rapid survey of the south curtain wall was also undertaken whilst on the site. This revealed that the wall divided into three cells, parts of which were medieval, others being later rebuilds or additions. [Au(adp)] |
