Abstract: |
Trial Pit A and Trial Pit B/Trench F were excavated across the conjectured line of the leat but produced no archaeological evidence for the feature. The remains of a path or garden feature associated with the hospital grounds were seen in Trench D. Trenches C, D, and E produced evidence of post-medieval agricultural use of the site in the form of earlier cultivation soils and a slate-lined land drain. No evidence was found of any earlier archaeological activity on the site. [Au(adp)] |
