Abstract: |
A watching brief was maintained during groundworks for the construction of buildings to the rear of the Dog and Duck Inn, on a site located witthin the medieval core of Beverley. Fragmentary brick footings and padstones with small areas of brick flooring between them, and appearing to form a series of small compartments were revealed. The features identified may have been part of a stables which stood on the site until the late 19th century. These features were overlain by a thick layer of dumped make-up deposits comprising rubble and clay. [AIP] |
