Abstract: |
Monitoring work was undertaken during pipe-laying through the medieval hamlet of Blackthorpe and across the line of a supposed Roman road. Little archaeology was found except for a few post-medieval pits or ditches, brick and tile fragments, and some medieval pottery sherds. No trace of the Roman road was located, possibly due to the small amount of ground disturbance. [AIP] |
