Abstract: |
A desk-based study was undertaken to assess the archaeological implications for a possible site for the proposed new Visitor Centre, at Stonehenge Bottom just to the east of the junction of the A344. The study area lay within the World Heritage Site and contained three Scheduled Ancient Monuments. The study identified 32 archaeological sites within the study area. Six archaeological monuments could be recognized: the Stonehhenge Avenue, three round barrows and one linear boundary. [AIP] |
