Abstract: |
Archaeological features of a prehistoric date were found in nine of thirteen trenches excavated. These were concentrated around the ridge and corresponded with anomalies from an earlier geophysical survey, and included boundary ditches and an enclosure bounded by a double-ditched feature. Pits containing burnt material were encountered, and it was thought that the site was occupational in nature. Further excavation was required in order to provide important information relating to prehistoric settlement in South Yorkshire. [Au(adp)] |
