Abstract:
The investigation combined an earthwork survey with a watching brief. The earthwork survey identified an extensive range of topographic features, which included 67 below ground features, which were revealed during the watching brief. These features comprised of multiple phases of ditches and pits, which may have had some association with salt making. Only one ditch provided sherds of 13th/14th-century date pottery. Romano-British pottery was found in the topsoil. [Au(adp)]
