Abstract: |
An intermittent watching brief was carried out during the excavation of a fishing lake at a site which lay 250m from Bulbury Camp, an Iron Age fort. Bronze Age barrows, Iron Age settlements and shrunken medieval settlements had been recorded in the surrounding area. During the watching brief, no archaeological structures or artefacts were observed, although a peat deposit overlying alluvial silt was noted. [AIP] |
