Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out at the site of a residential development. In the south-western part, ground was reduced by up to 2.5m, revealing relatively late redeposited topsoil above natural gravelly sand. Elsewhere, modern foundations and extensive areas of surface concrete were removed. No archaeological features were observed, although the underlying soils were heavily obscured due to site traffic.
