Abstract: |
<summary>Archaeological monitoring was undertaken in advance of housing development. The results showed that archaeological deposits of the late Medieval period survived beneath the modern buildings. A deep pit was observed containing pottery evidence and a fragment of shoe leather dating from the late 14th/early 15th century. Stonework uncovered may have related to occupation on the site, but the evidence was too fragmentary to be certain. The environmental evidence suggested that small-scale agricultural activities may have been carried out in the vicinity. {italon}AIP{italoff} |
