Abstract: |
28 evaluation trenches, which lay within the Scheduled Ancient Monument GL 165, the medieval Cluniac Priory, revealed medieval walls, surfaces and foundation deposits as well as structural elements of the Tudor Mansion house. Walls and deposits from Bermonsey Square's 18th century past were found. Modern activity, including structures and basements, had commonly truncated the archaeology, in places to the level of natural sand and gravel. [Au(abr)] |
