Abstract: |
A rapid desk-based assessment into the archaeological and historic background of 36 sites associated with various combined overflow schemes. For 23 schemes there were no known archaeological or historic sites within 250m of the proposed works. For 13 of the recorded sites had recorded archaeological sites within 250m of them, nine of these were considered to be sites where there would be no impact on archaeological remains. The remaining four schemes, at Birds Royd Lane, Aleger Street, Pollard Street and Towngate, all in Brighouse, were described as being of low to moderate remains, and a programme of monitoring was recommended.
