Abstract: |
A desk-based assessment, supported by preliminary field survey, of an area proposed for land reclamation works that contained remains of structures associated with the Dolcoath mine, a mine well documented in contemporary accounts of the 18th and 19th centuries, was undertaken. Features identifed comprised structures relating to the boundary of a reservoir pond, which served the mine, a leat embankment, and remains of 18th cenury copper mining tailings dumps which probably pre-dated the reservoir ponds.
