Abstract: |
A watching brief was maintained during the excavation of a 3m by 6m wide and 2m deep hole for the installation of a LPG gas storage tank. The last vestiges of a flint built wall running north-west to south-east across the trench. A scatter of post-medieval brick/tile and a few sherds of 19th/20th century terracotta ware were recovered. Although adjacent to a medieval road and close to the parish church and ruins of the medieval manor house, no medieval or earlier features or artefacts were recovered. If indeed they had existed, the post-medieval landscaping may well have removed any trace. [Au(adp)] |
