Abstract: |
An archaeological survey for the Burrington Combe CS Scheme identified a number of threats and potential threats to the archaeological resource, and proposed recommendations for mitigation measures and future research. The survey had the benefit of a previous intensive archaeological survey carried out between 1986 and 1988 to improve the understanding of the archaeology of the Mendip Hills AONB. The area is one characterised by conservative land use, and many of the findings of the earlier study remained relevant. The report outlined the current archaeological position, and offered a series of proposals; active management, passive management, presentation, monitoring and future research. [Au(abr)] |
