Abstract: |
The watching brief revealed modern make-up, service pipes and brick rubble backfill. Beneath the backfill, a layer of waterlain clay was recorded, possibly consistent with the flooding of osier beds, which were present on the site up until the early 19th century. No other archaeological feature or deposits were seen or recorded. Natural gravel was not reached. [Au(abr)] |
