Abstract: |
Excavations revealed evidence of sporadic human activity at or near the site for the last 8000 years. Archaeological remains dated from the Mesolithic, represented by a rare microlith, through to Neolithic and Late Bronze Age, supported by the discovery of sherds with Beaker and Grooved Ware attributes (rare in Devon) The Iron Age and early medieval periods were represented by pits with charred cereal remains and pottery assemblages. Throughout the site a number of linear features and pits were also located. Although they could not be dated conclusively they were given an apparent prehistoric date. [AIP] |
