Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out at the site of the River Crane Flood Alleviation Scheme. Some prehistoric finds had been recorded in the surrounding area, and a Saxon settlement may have lain at a distance of 2km. During the watching brief, five areas at two different sites were stripped and inspected. No archaeological features were revealed. One or possibly two prehistoric struck flints were recovered, and sherds of 18th-19th century pottery were observed.[AIP] |
