Abstract: |
Desk-based assessment identified that a Bronze Age sword had been discovered on the site in 1873. It was demonstrated that the sedimentary context from which the sword was recovered had probably been destroyed during the construction of a cutting for the railway and station. The station buildings and goods sheds were found to have survived well although more recent building activity was noted. [Auth abridged] |
