Abstract: |
A programme of background documentary research and a survey of the Hall outbuildings was undertaken prior to the proposed restoration. The house was believed to have dated to the late 16th/early 17th century, although it had been much altered in the 18th and 19th centuries. Except for a few relatively minor details, the background research did not produce evidence that called the basic sequence of structural development for the Hall proposed in an earlier report into question.
