Abstract:		 Excavations prior to the installation of a staircase at the remains of the Friary at Burnham Norton revealed the lowest courses of a demolished wall contemporary with the gatehouse, a flint and cobble floor, a door jamb and a collapsed wall. The foundation for the new stair was redesigned so as not to disturb the remains. [AIP]
