Abstract: |
A desktop study and field reconnaisance of a water pipeline stretching from Linton to Kilnsey with Conistone identified that for approximately half the route, the pipeline would cut through existing road deposits, thus minimising its impact on sites of a potential archaeological significance. Eslewhere the impact would mainly be on field systems though to be of later prehistoric and medieval date and drystone wall boundaries. Deposits associated with the putative line of a Roman road which corresponded with the present day B6160 would also be affected. [Au] |
