Abstract: |
Observation of a foundation trench immediately south of Stationery House revealed the northern wall of the cellars of the building which was demolished when West Street was widened in the 20th century, and whose infilled cellars now lay beneath the street. No evidence of the construction date of the building, which had been substantially built of mortared lias slabs, was found. No other archaeological deposits were exposed. [Au(adp)] |
