Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was undertaken in advance of a proposed residential development, on or near the boundary of a medieval moated manor. The three trenches provided evidence for sporadic post-medieval and possible medieval activity and included several ditches. A ditch of probable medieval date was found where the moat ditch was expected. This was much smaller than anticipated, and the main ditch was subsequently thought to have lay a little further south near the modern property boundary. The report concluded that the archaeological resource was of relatively low quality and would not have been affected by the proposed development. [Au(adp)] |
