Abstract: |
There were no indications that the proposed development area was occupied during the prehistoric or Romano-British periods. The northern edge of the area may have been subject to ploughing during the medieval and post-medieval periods. From the mid-nineteenth century onwards the site was intensively developed with the creation of shipyards that eventually became the Pickersgill yard. [Au(abr)] |
