Abstract: |
Watching briefs were maintained during levelling operations on the slope below and to the north side of Peverill Castle, for the creation of a level platform for the construction of a new ticket office/shop to serve the Castle above, and during the excavation of footing holes for new information boards. No archaeological features or deposits were revealed. A slight depression however, observed in the slope slightly above the ticket office platform, indicated lead mining activity in this area.
